We think this hotel is great! Standard rooms are compact, but beautifully presented. Breakfast is wonderful, and though there is no bar or restaurant, there are places nearby to eat or for after-dinner drinkies. Staff are friendly and very helpful. We've just returned from our second stay at dei Consoli, and will definitely go again.

Top Tip:
Hotel is very close to the Vatican, but the rest of Rome is walkable as long as you're feeling energetic. Hop-on-hop -off ticket for the tour buses from outide the Caffe San Pietro in front of St Peter's is a good idea if you're not. Taverna Varrone opposite the hotel is good, and there's a lively wine-bar type place in Via Pomponia Leto that also does good food - lots of veggie options. We loved Taverna Angelica - forgot the name of the road, but you come to it following Via Pomponia Leto and crossing the main road - it's just behind the florist's kiosk. Castroni food shop on Via Cola di Rienzi is great - excellent coffee and snacks to eat at counter / take out, and the food market on the same street is lovely.
